The Yanagisawa A-880 is one of my favorite altos of all time, and this is the best 880 that I have played so far. This horn has only the lightest of wear. This horn sings with a medium bright tone with a nice substantial core to it. It sounds great for a wide range of styles of music, a lot like a Mark VI. The intonation is excellent, as is the build quality generally. It has a high F#. The ergonomics are modern and very comfortable. This horn will do it all, and it’s quite a bit cheaper than most other altos of this caliber.

This horn will do it all, and it’s quite a bit cheaper than most other altos of this caliber. I try to keep some of these around because they are such a great value. It ships in the original case in excellent condition. The sale price includes having all of the pads replaced by Matt Stohrer, which is a really nice perk.
