Yanagisawa A-901 Alto Saxophone in Silver Plate

Description

This is a nice, silver-plated Yanagisawa A-901 alto. These are very high-quality, flexible altos that work great for a serious player who wants a top-quality instrument under $2k. I played an A901 for many years and loved it. The silver plate on this horn is almost all there, but there is some corrosion as well (see pictures). The pads are in excellent condition and almost all of them are new. They were replaced by Matt Stohrer, who does great pad work, so the horn is really in TOP playing condition and feels very good under the fingers. This means that the horn will be in great playing condition for many years to come.

It has a surprisingly dark, powerful tone. The intonation is excellent, and the horn has great ergonomics and just burns if you want it to. This should be a very good alto for someone wanting handmade quality horn in excellent playing condition, yet still for a low price!
