Here is a beautiful Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophone SN# 120xxx. It has beautiful original lacquer (Right around 120xxx, VI’s tend to have been engraved with a light touch, but this is normal for that serial range.) It also has a fresh, new full overhaul that was done well and feels good under the fingers. There are the resolder and bow scrapes as pictured. The horn plays great, so it would not seem that this stuff has made too much of a difference to the tone.
The tone of this horn is medium dark with quite a bit of power. It feels somewhat spread – not laser beam focus like some VI tenors, and not too spread either. It is a good, solid original VI tenor for a good price that also happens to look really pretty. It ships in a ProTec Contoured hard case in good condition.
