This is an excellent, American-engraved Mark VI tenor saxophone. Never mind that it has speckly lacquer. This horn has no dents, no dings, no past repairs, bell flare is perfect, neck is perfect and matches, bottom bow is perfect. It has just received a fresh overhaul by Matt Stohrer (9/24/12) with domed brass Reso-tech style resonators, and it plays GREAT! But please note that these pictures are BEFORE Matt got the horn, so it has been cleaned up now. 102xxx is the exact same horn as the late 90xxx horns, so you are getting an identical horn to a really good, clean 90xxx but for less money. For anyone who wants the best possible Mark VI tenor for the lowest possible price, this is the horn for you. So if you can get past the speckly lacquer, you are getting one of the best playing horns out there – dark, focused, powerful and versatile – and certainly one of the best for the money.
