This Mark VI tenor comes from the most desirable 86xxx serial range. These horns are so desirable both because they have an unbeatable tone, and also because Brecker played them. Cosmetically, this horn has beautiful lacquer, with a little bit of wear on the back of the bell and the back of the body tube. It is a one-owner horn, and it has spent most of its life in the case. It has a few repairs: some small dents removed from the back of the bow area, a repair to the bell flare, and one keycage leg resoldered on low C. The original, matching neck is pristine and not pulled down, and the body is straight and true.
This horn has a fresh overhaul done by Perry Ritter, a well-known tech from NYC. Perry used flat metal resonators on this horn. The pad work could certainly be a lot better, so I am not selling this horn with lots of praise for the work. It is a fresh overhaul though.
There are not that many 8x,xxx horns around anymore, so here is a chance to get a solid one that promises to be a good player. This horn ships in the original case which is in good condition.
