This is a freshly overhauled Selmer Mark VI Tenor SN# 87xxx. The work was done by Steve Collins and the horn feels very tight and snappy, the way it should feel. It has domed metal resonators. This horn has been relacquered at some point in the past, and the neck has been pulled down and expertly repaired. The neck angle is now exactly where it should be. Body and neck serial numbers match by the way. The sound on this horn is big and powerful. It’s a little bit difficult to describe the late 8x,xxx horns – you can tell that the dark, focused core is there, but they have a bright edge and more projection than the earlier horns, in general. This is a fun sax to play, and it should be great for a whole range of players out there. Plus it’s beautiful!
