This saxophone is sold! But click here to see our current selection of soprano and sopranino saxophones!
This is a really gorgeous, nearly perfect example of a vintage Selmer Mark VI soprano saxophone. It has all ORIGINAL lacquer and no past damage at all. No dents, dings, resolders, or other repairs. It looks like it still has its original Selmer pads as well. It includes the original case also, in great condition. It is pretty hard to find a really really clean and beautiful Mark VI like this. This horn also has extensive hand engraving and looks just great. It would be hard to find one in better condition than this.
The tone is classic VI soprano – the sound you hear on so much of the jazz on the radio, at the mall etc. Kenny G made the Mark VI soprano famous, and he plays Mark VI sopranos that are right around 200k serial as well, from what I have seen. (Though who knows how many horns he has!) If you want to do the Kenny G smooth jazz thing, I also have a Dukoff Miami soprano mouthpiece in stock right now, which is what he plays on his most famous recordings. I also have an original Selmer mouthpiece that you could add to the horn purchase to complete your set. This horn has great intonation, sounds rich and reedy, like you would expect, and is easy to play.
There are lots of places to buy average saxophones. This site is different in that the idea is to be super picky about only selling top-quality horns, so you can be sure that what you get is really great.
This is a turn key purchase for a beautiful, rare, and great-playing vintage saxophone. Get it now – there’s only one available!
