Selmer Mark VI Tenor 1971 Excellent Original Condition 196745

$ 7,500

Even though this Selmer Mark VI tenor was built in 1971, it still looks nearly new. This Is about as nice an example of an original lacquer original pads Selmer Mark VI tenor as you are ever likely to see, and it’s not priced astronomically high to match the condition, but very reasonably, so that you could buy it, overhaul it, and still be well below the price of a new modern Selmer – for a nearly new looking Mark VI! That’s pretty great. This tenor is American-engraved and assembled, serial 196745, with original factory setup intact. It’s a ‘barn find’ kind of horn – the 65 Corvette with a blanket over it that still looks fresh underneath. There are no dents or dings, no past repairs, nothing resoldered or out of whack. It will be a very simple, straightforward overhaul to give this horn a bath and swap out the pads. You might even be able to leave the factory cork/adjustments on the keys if your repairer has a non-invasive overhaul approach. In any case, someone is going to get one gorgeous VI tenor. Go ahead and zoom in using the full screen image viewer – I see a few speckles in the lacquer on the neck from being handled more over the years, and that’s really about it. It’s pretty remarkable.
