Steve Broadus mouthpieces are high quality vintage pieces that get overlooked because of their dark, warm tone and typically-small tip openings. If you’re looking for a classical or concert band tenor mouthpiece that doesn’t sound like everybody else, the Broadus is a great option. It has a large chamber, low baffle, and is made well from great hard rubber. Get it opened up a little if you want to move more air, or leave it small (only .054″) and use a stiff reed for a uniquely dark tone.
