Buescher 400 Top Hat and Cane Tenor Relacquered Looks Original 345356

Great deal on a beautiful Buescher Top Hat and Cane Tenor saxophone. These were the most deluxe saxophone that Buescher ever made, with extensive engraving, fancy neck design, and a ‘tone ring’ under the bell lip (Which I didn’t notice on the first one or two of these that I had, many years ago.)

This horn needs an overhaul, meaning all new pads, corks, felts, cleaning and new oil (a regular overhaul). It’s mechanically and cosmetically very nice though, and will look nearly new when overhauled, save for the evidence of a dent that was removed from the back of the bow area before I listed it for sale here. It’s on consignment, so I can’t overhaul it pre-sale, but it should be a straightforward job for your repairer of choice. Or I can also recommend someone good who is near where you live (in most cases). These tenors go for like $2k more than this when original lacquer, so you’re saving a lot of money due to the new coat of lacquer, which, in this case, makes little difference to how the horn is put together (no significant buffing, no keywork damage or other relacquer-related issues).
