Selmer Balanced Action Tenor Refinished Good Condition Fresh Overhaul Excellent 29292

This is my favorite vintage of Selmer Balanced Action tenor. It just received an extremely high-end overhaul that has gotten it back to as tight and fresh feeling and playing as it can be after its first 84 years of life. That’s included in the price. It was done with Pisoni pro italian leather pads and reusable slightly domed brass resonators, that are my favorite for these. My personal 29k BA tenor has the same setup. This was a one-owner horn, unbelievably, a pro player in Florida, who took great care of it the whole time until his death. These horns will outlive all of us, if we take proper care of them.

That’s what’s just happened to this one, and it plays absolutely effortlessly, with a rich, warm, medium spread tone. The subtone is effortless, even at low volumes in the low register. It just wants to make music. The lacquer is not original, as you can tell, and there’s a patch by the thumb hook to protect the metal there from wear. Original neck is in good condition, and the horn just PLAYS! You’d pay easily double this for an original one with old pads, so relacquered with a high-end overhaul, this is a very fair price.
