Conn New Wonder II Transitional Tenor 251370 Needs Restoration Aubra Graves

This is one of Aubra Graves’s Conn tenors that he used on his super popular Youtube videos. It’s from his estate, and it needs a full restoration to play its best again. Conns are extremely well made instruments, and the 251k serial range is just about the best sounding version they ever made. But it will be an extensive overhaul, as the horn is pretty rough at the moment. Have your repairperson take a look at photos before you buy it. That said, it’s priced great and will be a fantastic horn when it’s done. These are SO fun to play, and you can also be part of the Aubra fan club with it. Pop on a bright mouthpiece like a Berg metal, add some reverb to the mix and ‘go practice’ and you can get that fat-but-bright jazz tenor sound on this with ease.
