Selmer Soloist Short Shank C** Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece MPC597

$ 400

This is a beautiful example of a 50’s Selmer Soloist ‘short shank’ tenor saxophone mouthpiece. This would have come with a late SBA or 50’s Selmer Mark VI tenor. It was designed as a dark, classical leaning mouthpiece, but sometimes people get these opened to larger tips to do the Joe Henderson sort of thing for jazz. The Soloist has straight sidewalls, a pretty small chamber, and a very slight rollover baffle. Dark mellow tone, high resistance piece, good for section work or maybe classical with a bit of an edge. Tip opening measures 0.075″.
